Hotel Football in Trafford and the new Stock Exchange Hotel in the city centre, which includes Tom Kerridge’s Bull & Bear restaurant and was recently named one of the best luxury hotels in the world, closed their doors in March.
During that time, both hotels accommodated NHS healthcare workers and medical professionals free of charge from The Manchester Univeristy NHS Foundation Trust, providing them with a comfortable place to stay and remain safe while continuing their incredible work during the challenging time.
Throughout the pandemic, across both hotels, GG Hospitality have accommodated in excess of 300 NHS key workers.
Now, the hotels, which are co-owned by Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs, have announced that they are reopening – but not until those NHS staff no longer require a place to stay.

Once the NHS key workers have left, the two hotels will spend time to thoroughly sanitise both properties and test new protocols and procedures to ensure that guests, team members and suppliers are kept as safe and comfortable as possible.
“It’s been a long time coming, and I know it’s been a challenging time for everybody,” said Gary Neville.
“It’s a challenging time in the hospitality industry, but we cannot wait to get The Bull & Bear with Tom Kerridge and the wonderful team serving food again, and also our hotel to start getting people to come and stay with us again.”
GG Hospitality say they are working towards a re-opening date of the 28th August for Stock Exchange Hotel and 1st September for Hotel Football, although prior to this date Hotel Football will be hosting some private events.
“As a company we felt that it was the right thing to do to continue looking after the NHS front liners,” said CEO Winston Zahra.
“We will be preparing our properties and continue to train all our team in the rigorous COVID-19 related safety protocols in the weeks ahead and are very much looking forward to welcoming our guests back to the hotels at the end of August/September.
“In the meantime we would like to thank all the volunteers, companies and the wider community for the support we have received during these past months.”
Stock Exchange Hotel will reopen on 28th August, and Hotel Football on 1st September.
