Six by Nico has undoubtedly been a hit with Manchester’s diners this past year.
Offering a run of themed tasting menus which change over every six weeks, the restaurant has kept customers coming back time and again. No mean feat in a city full of burgeoning Instagram foodies who’ll rarely return to the same place twice.
To date, diners have enjoyed tasting menus themed around such delights as the Chippy tea, New York, Mexico and The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party – the latter of which kicked of proceedings with a quirky edible menu.
The restaurant has now revealed its first menu concept of 2020: a ‘Best of 2019’ menu featuring loyal customers top picks of the year.
As well as featuring some of our own Manchester favourites, such as the deep-fried Mars bar and steak pie, it also showcases some top dishes from menus that we didn’t get a chance to try.
These include Catalonia menu favourite ‘Bombas’, the butternut spring roll and Penang chicken from the Thai street food menu, and the ‘Milan’ dish of seabass, peperonata and roasted aubergine from the Orient Express menu.
Speaking on the new menu, chef Nico said: “We are always seeking to evolve and improve the dining experience and our guests’ feedback plays a major role in helping us do just that.
“Therefore, we thought it was only right that we left our first menu concept of the decade in the hands of those who dine frequently with us.”
“It is fascinating to uncover what food memories stay with guests after they visit our restaurants and with this theme kicking off 2020’s concepts we are able to serve up something special for those who love us most.”
The menu is priced at £29 per person with the option to enjoy an expertly selected wine and specialist drinks pairing for an additional £26. As ever, there is a vegetarian alternative available for every course, as well as snack sides.
‘Best of 2019’ will run from Tuesday 7th January – Sunday 16th February 2020 at Six By Nico, Spring Gardens.
