The Sawyers Arms on Deansgate has been transformed to breathe new life into a tired local icon. Steeped in history, the city centre pub retains its character and charm but new features including fresh dough pizza will put a modern twist on what today’s great, high quality pub should be about.

There’s so much history to this place going back to the 30′s. It’s staunch Red (Man United) in its customers and it’s had a bad name for itself at times.

“Even the toilets are lovely… they were RANK before!”

It will still cater for sports fans, though. Three Sky boxes will be showing the most important action on Sky Sports and ESPN, with certain events in 3D. There are plenty of booths so groups can enjoy the game with friends, and these are available to book online so you can guarantee a great view.

Anyone who has been in for a drink in recent times will freely admit that a face lift was a tad over due and nobody can deny the new refurb looks great! Even the toilets, they’re lovely… they were RANK before!

Tasteful furnishing, splendid new wooden flooring, fixtures and fittings that would suit any upmarket gastro pub and cosy yet bright lighting. Traditional timber wall panelling as well as contemporary tiling are a big part of the quintessential English pub design, and the eclectic mix of modern and traditional dining furniture, along with feature wallpapers, create a warm, homely atmosphere.

The location is one hitting perfection on the corner of Bridge Street and Deansgate making this an ideal spot for a shopping break or a lunch time eatery with their express lunch and drink menu option.

Sawyers Arms Interior

With the onsite fresh dough pizza kitchen this is the biggest change of all for The Sawyers Arms and the pizzas certainly did not disappoint. Wonderful fresh pizza dough and a fab selection of favourite toppings.

The refurb has been considerate to The Sawyers loyal football/sports supporters with keeping the big screens up making this a really welcoming tradionsla pub with the contemporary twist of offering delicious pizzas to accompany the substantial choice of beers and wines.

100% fresh dough pizza made each day by hand. Hand-stretched to a thin, crispy base, pizzas will be topped with high quality, fresh ingredients.

Up to 100 pizzas will be freshly made each day and toppings range from the classic Serrano Ham & Spanish Chorizo with cherry tomato, fresh red chilli and rosemary or the Americana with pepperoni with rocket to the more exotic Crispy Duck & Hoisin with spring onions, cucumber and fresh coriander.

The importance of quality, handmade produce continues with the drinks, with a variety of cask ales on offer each day. The Sawyers Arms has an important history as a cask house and beer is important to the local area and the people, so on-tap real ale is a key part of the new pub.

The Sawyers Arms has an extensive world drinks selection too, and fresh Italian coffee comes from renowned producers Illy, ensuring that traditional roast flavour every time. There is also free WiFi for those who need to stay connected.

Every day between 12pm and 3pm customers can take advantage of the great value lunch club and get a delicious main course plus a drink for under £7. Tuesdays and Thursdays are 2 for 1 day, with offers on pizzas and cocktails respectively and 10am early opening for coffee mornings with cake!

“We’ve worked hard to maintain the traditional pub values but bring a new lease of life with proper home cooked pizza and a great range of world drinks.” Rocky adds.

“The Sawyers Arms will be the perfect place to meet friends or watch live sport in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.”
