San Carlo announces new champagne bar for Selfridges intu Trafford Centre

The Italian family owned and run San Carlo Group, which has 21 restaurants across the UK including several in Manchester, has announced it will be launching a champagne and cocktail bar at Selfridges intu Trafford Centre this summer.

San Carlo Champagne Bar will serve more than ten choices of champagne and prosecco served by the glass or bottle, alongside a menu of charcuterie and shellfish plates.

Located in the newly refurbished accessories hall on lower level, the interior will be a celebration of Italian craft, luxury and beauty with a sense of elegance, they say.

A sculptural ‘cloud’ chandelier that floats over the gleaming marble bar will take centre stage.

Inspired by the warm effervescence of bubbling champagne and the heritage of Italian Murano glass chandeliers, the 20 foot wide cloud chandelier is comprised of 1000 individual cast glass discs, each one hand made in the Veneto region of Italy.

All furniture and lighting will be of bespoke design and hand crafted in Italy and the UK.

“We’re excited to bring a new way to enjoy San Carlo to Selfridges Trafford,” said Marcello Distefano, managing director, San Carlo Group.

“Of course, we’ve not held back on the design, we’re aiming to create a place which elevates the champagne bar experience and offers somewhere stylish and extraordinary to enjoy a moment of relaxation.”

The champagne bar will be the sixth Selfridges San Carlo Group venue and comes following the success of the most recent opening of Alto by San Carlo on the rooftop of Selfridges in London, in April last year.

“We are delighted to be working with the San Carlo group once again, to launch a new destination champagne and cocktail bar in our Trafford store,” said Hannah Bass, Selfridges restaurants director.

“The new space builds on the long standing relationship between our two companies and we are sure our customers will enjoy this fantastic addition to our store.”

San Carlo Champagne Bar will open at Selfridges intu Trafford Centre this summer.
