One of Peter Street’s longest-standing bars is set for a makeover this month.

Revolucion de Cuba will be closing for two weeks for refurbishment, before reopening with a brand new look.

Inspired by a recent trip to Cuba, where bosses soaked up Havana’s rich culture and food scene, the new-look bar will be filled with lush greenery and authentic Cuban features.

Plans for the Latin cantina’s revamp include the addition of a brand new outdoor seating area for customers to enjoy alongside a complete overhaul of the main floor and basement bar areas.

Upstairs, the bar, lobby and welcome desk is set for a complete transformation. The refreshed interior will see existing booths and seating areas replaced, new light fixtures, and plenty of bright new artwork straight from Havana.

A new raised stage will also be installed to showcase live performers and other entertainers once Rev de Cuba reopens its doors at the end of the month.

Downstairs, the lauded Havana bar will take on a glamorous new look with a refreshed bar and seating area. It will feature a new display to showcase the impressive rum collection, and the floor will be getting an upgrade, too, in order to ensure it’s salsa-ready for the reopening.

But those needing their Revolucion de Cuba fix will still be able to access the underground cocktail bar this weekend from 5pm for a cheeky cocktail and a sneak peek of what’s to come later this month.

Following the grand reopening, Rev de Cuba will be introducing a host of events including rum tasting, themed brunch parties and sensory salsa nights.

“Revolucion de Cuba is well known in Manchester, and has been our company flagship bar for many years,” says venue spokesperson Paul Foulder.

“Following our trip to Cuba, we’ve been able to design the new bar with authentic features in mind, drawing inspiration from Havana’s rich culture and food scene.

“Thanks to our travel and Latin influences, we’re a place where customers come to escape and enjoy memorable, meaningful experiences – most of all, the hedonism of Cuba and all the delights we have to offer.

“Now, all of that is going to be bigger, better and more Cuban than ever.”

The date for the launch party is set for Friday 26th July and will be open to the public to attend. To bag your ticket, head over to their website and sign up to be the first to hear of any new developments.
