XS Manchester Breakfast will have a new voice when Alex James joins the station to wake up the city every weekday, starting next Monday.
Alex, who was formerly on Hits Radio, has been presenting shows across the North West for 15 years, including Key 103. He is also a regular contributor to the BBC.
He will replace Adam Brown, who has recently joined Radio X.
With a listenership of over 132,000 weekly adults in the North West, XS Manchester now retains more listening hours than Hits Radio (formerly Key 103), and remains a champion of classic anthems and new music in Greater Manchester.
“I can’t wait to get started on XS Manchester Breakfast – finding out what’s going on in our listeners’ lives, keeping an eye over everything that’s going on in and around Manchester, and of course with loads of the best music to start the day in the world’s greatest city,” said Alex.
“Alex joins XS Manchester at a very exciting time and we are thrilled to have someone with his experience and enthusiasm driving us forward at Breakfast.,” said James Wilson, XS Manchester’s content manager.
“XS Manchester continues to live and breathe this amazing city’s music and culture and with Alex at the helm, we are looking forward to furthering the success story that is XS Manchester.”
Recognised across Manchester for supporting breakthrough artists, XS will continue to air on FM, DAB, and online as part of the Communicorp UK portfolio of brands.
XS Manchester with Alex James starts Monday 6th July and is on air weekdays from 6am – 10am.
