Marilyn, John, Jo, and Fran, a tight-knit household, have emerged as the first-ever family to win individual top prizes in the People’s Postcode Lottery.

With each family member receiving a substantial cheque of £58,823, their combined winnings total an astonishing £235,292.

The story begins with daughter Jo, who works as a hotel duty manager, who took the first leap of faith and signed up for the People’s Postcode Lottery.

Convinced of its merits, she managed to persuade her parents and brother to join in.

Little did they know that their decision to participate would result in a huge jackpot.

When the news arrived, it took the family by surprise.

Jo was overjoyed, stating, “I’ve been playing for 10 years, and I started to think we’d never win big, but I have now – we all have. It’ll definitely take the pressure off.”

Her parents, Marilyn and John, were equally ecstatic, expressing their gratitude for their daughter’s encouragement and the life-changing opportunity that awaited them.

For John, a taxi driver and devoted Elvis fan, the win brought forth mixed emotions.

With a touch of humour, he said, “My favourite Elvis song is ‘The Wonder Of You,’ but I’m All Shook Up now! I never expected to win the big one, but I’m glad that we did.

“I never had this sort of money before. It gives you a sense of being able to do what you want to do – a sense of freedom.”

Mum Marilyn, a retired hotel chambermaid, found herself feeling a whirlwind of emotions.

She admitted, “It’s very special. I’m excited, shaky, nervous, and just want a cup of tea.”

The realization of their incredible fortune sank in slowly, but the overwhelming sense of joy and gratitude was undeniable.

The household plans to use its newfound wealth to create lasting memories and make long-awaited dreams a reality.

Son Fran, a decorating shop boss, the first order of business is a luxury holiday.

“Private villa in the Algarve for two weeks,” he excitedly shared. “Especially when it’s a villa, not a hotel. I’m not snobby, it’s just a preference and it’s a preference we can now afford.”

Additionally, the family intends to revamp their beloved semi-detached house, which has been their cherished abode for 37 years.

They eagerly look forward to transforming it into their dream home.

With the weight of financial worries lifted off their shoulders, the family can now enjoy the freedom to pursue their passions and create a brighter future.

Their extraordinary win not only brought immense joy to the family but also reverberated through their neighbourhood.

The postcode M25 2QL, their fortunate address, was revealed as the winning postcode, with a total of 15 neighbours sharing in the Millionaire Street prize.

Each neighbour received the same incredible sum of £58,823.

The jubilant community rallied together to celebrate the extraordinary stroke of luck that had befallen their street.

The impact of their good fortune extends beyond personal gain.

People’s Postcode Lottery, renowned for its commitment to supporting charitable causes, designated today’s prize draw to benefit Postcode Planet Trust.

This trust delivers crucial grant funding to organizations dedicated to safeguarding the environment and promoting  WWF-UK, Marine Conservation Society and The Wildlife Trusts.
