FREE fitness sessions are being made available to people who work in Greater Manchester’s night-time economy in a bid to improve mental wellbeing in the industry.

Sacha Lord, Greater Manchester’s night-time economy adviser, has teamed up with accessible fitness provider TRIBE.MCR to offer monthly group training sessions free of charge.

The free fitness programme launch comes after Sacha conducted feedback exercises with night-time economy employees last year to understand issues they face.

The outdoor group classes are open to all fitness levels and will take place at Sadler’s Yard during the day to cater for people who work night shifts.

Exercises will focus on movement and fun and will be led by TRIBE.MCR founder Jessicarr Moorhouse, an NHS doctor with a background in physiotherapy and personal training.

“This will be the start of something really special in Manchester,” said Dr Moorhouse.

“The promotion of positive mental health through exercise is central to our vision and we are delighted to have been asked to host the session.

“As an NHS doctor, I often work during the evenings and throughout the night. This can have a negative impact on my mental health, due to a disturbed sleeping and eating pattern, and the fact that I miss out on my usual exercise regime.

“As the founder of TRIBE.MCR, a health and wellness brand focused on feeling good and having fun with exercise, we cannot wait to host this group fitness session”

The first session takes place at 2pm on Thursday 11th April at Sadler’s Yard, M60 0AB. Limited spaces are available. Sign up for a free space here.
