Curated Makers and Paperchase have collaborated to host a pop-up in the run-up to Christmas in their Manchester branch, which features the works of over 40 independent artists and makers from across the North of England.

The unique concession on the top floor of Paperchase is offering a carefully curated selection of locally made, unique handcrafted goods including artwork, jewellery, ceramics, candles, Christmas decorations and more.

There are also opportunities for customers to ‘meet-the-maker’ within the pop-up. Artists will be on-hand offering live pet portraits, personalised decorations and upcycled gifts this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Curated Makers was founded by Manchester-based Megan Jones, 29, who created the brand to give small, local, independent makers a platform to showcase their products within prime retail spaces.

Having started on a market stall in November 2017 where just four makers were represented at each stall, the pop-ups now showcase over 40 makers at a time, and Curated Makers has received applications from over 2000 local creatives hoping to join the growing pop-ups.

Her aim is to keep the high street alive and thriving by showcasing local talent, offering a unique, engaging and interactive shopping experience.

“When we were in store in the Summer, the most asked question was, ‘Are you going to be back for Christmas?'” says Megan.

We are a warm alternative to the Manchester Christmas Markets, with an offering of over 40 artisan makers, with products made locally here in the North.

“I really hope that if you are visiting the Markets, that you take time to also visit our Made Local Pop-Up on the top floor of Paperchase to shop small this Christmas… and warm up a little at the same time.”

The Curated Makers Made Local Pop-Up is situated on the top floor of Paperchase, 12-14 St Mary’s Gate, and will run until Tuesday 24th December 2019. It’s open Monday to Saturday 9am – 7pm, and Sunday 11am – 5pm.
