With the Manchester weather set to pick up this weekend, what better way to get it started than with a FREE gin cocktail?

Northern Quarter hidden gem 19 Café Bar will be dishing out free cocktails to the first fifty guests to walk through the door from 5pm on Friday 4th May.

But if you’re heading down you better be quick, because once the first fifty people are through the door it’s back to business as usual for the Northern Quarter venue.

Anyone lucky enough to get there in time will be able to choose their own three stage gin, as well as a range of different tonics and a unique garnish to complete that summer feel.

Top your gin up with a choice of flavoured tonics including cranberry, basil and pomegranate, cucumber and watermelon or just a standard tonic for those of you who want to keep it elegant and simple.

And what is a summer cocktail without a fancy fascinator garnish to top it off? Offering a range of garnishes to brighten things up and add an extra layer of flavour, you can choose from thyme, cucumber, lime or orange to create the perfectly refreshing beverage to enjoy in the Manchester sun – when it finally comes out to play.

“Summer is often very brief in Manchester so to make the most of it this year, we wanted to give the good people of the city a drink on us to kick start their weekend,” said 19 Café Bar owner Nikita Lyle.

“Our three stage gin has always been popular with punters, and we thought what better way to relax in the sun with a refreshing gin cocktail after a long week at work. We’re expecting a lot of thirsty customers at 5pm so we’d recommend getting down early to avoid disappointment as once they’re gone – they’re gone!”

I know where I’m heading when I leave the I Love MCR office on Friday.
