Mother’s Day is all about treating our mums – and what could be more special than a luxurious afternoon tea buffet at a five star hotel?
The Lowry Hotel’s ‘all you can eat’ afternoon tea is making a welcome return on Sunday 27th March, hosted in their beautiful Grand Ballroom.
Served between 12 noon and 4pm, the buffet-style afternoon tea includes unlimited sandwiches, scones and cakes, as well as a choice of tea, coffee or juice, plus entertainment for the whole family.
There’s a selection of delicious sandwich options, with fillings including poached Loch Duart salmon with horseradish crème fraiche, baked ham with piccalilli, and oak smoked cheese with carrot and spring onion, as well as Lincolnshire pork and wild mushroom sausage rolls.
When it comes to sweet treats, you can’t beat The Lowry Hotel’s freshly baked plain and fruit scones with Cornish clotted cream and fruity strawberry preserve, but leave room for the selection of dainty desserts, too.
There’s lemon and ginger choux craqualin, raspberry, white chocolate and pistachio gateaux, praline tarts with milk chocolate and The Lowry Hotel’s own honey, and passion fruit cheesecake, as well as a selection of flavoured macaroons.
There’s also a special selection just for kids to enjoy, including ham, cheese, tuna and egg sandwiches and desserts such as double chocolate brownies, jam doughnuts, homemade candyfloss, and strawberry marshmallow skewers with chocolate sauce.
At £35 for adults and £15 for children, you get two full hours to help yourselves to the sumptuous selection.
There’s also the option of their ever popular three course Sunday lunch in The River Restaurant, with traditional dishes crafted to perfection and entertainment provided throughout the afternoon.
The relaxed atmosphere and first class food make it the perfect choice to show your mother or mother figure how much you love them.
Or perhaps your mum would prefer a pampering session in The Spa at The Lowry Hotel?
Available until 30th April, their special Mum’s the World package includes a 50-minute Elemis Facial with a heated scalp, hand and foot massage.
Priced at £85 Monday – Thursday and £99 on Fridays and Saturdays, you can also add on a cream tea (£7.50) or an Elemis candle (£36) to make it even more of a treat.
Whatever you go for, it’s the ultimate way to celebrate Mother’s Day in style.
