Moxy Manchester City, a Marriott concept from KE Hotels, will offer a new 146-bedroom hotel in Spinningfields when it opens this November.
Transforming a former hat factory, the new hotel and bar will give a fresh lease of life to the 18th century building, which is clad in weathered-effect metal panels to give an urban contrast to the original façade that has been retained as part of the new nine-storey structure.
A boutique hotel at heart, located on Atkinson Street between Spinningfields and Deansgate, Moxy Manchester City has done away with the front desk.
Instead, head straight to the bar where a complimentary cocktail is served at check-in, alongside the room key.
The 146 vibrant Spinningfields bedrooms are cleverly designed to be as productive or as playful as you want, say owners.
As well as plush platform beds, a fun-size workspace and comfy lounge chairs, Moxy Manchester City rooms also feature walk-in showers, TVs with Netflix, open-wall closets, and motion activated LED guidelights.
Plus, they’re pet-friendly, so pooches can come, too.
Guests can make the most of the barista counter for those early morning wake-ups and afternoon-pick-me-ups, with snacks and beverages available 24/7 to satisfy all your cravings.
And with hand-crafted drinks, small plates and upbeat background music in the communal living room lobby and bar, you can hang out with your closest friends, party with new ones, or keep it strictly business with spaces to work and meet and free and fast WIFI.
“Moxy Manchester City will be a new playground for the neighbourhood and city,” said director at KE Hotels, Anil Khanna.
“Our play and stay concept is a new way of travelling, designed to give guests everything they want at an affordable price.
“Located in the city’s vibrant Spinningfields district, Moxy Manchester City won’t take itself too seriously, but it is serious about showing guests a good time.
“We have smartly spaced rooms, stylish communal areas that are ideal for work and meetings, and a new cool bar for the city.
“We wanted the design of the building to fuse together traditional and contemporary – the exterior is stunning and something very unique, whilst the hotel’s interior will feature nods towards the building’s industrial past.
“We can’t wait to show Manchester the Moxy lifestyle.”
