When it comes to house hunting in Greater Manchester, there are few places that feature higher on home hunters’ hit lists than Altrincham.

It’s hardly surprising. Altrincham was named ‘The Best Place to live in the North West’ by the Sunday Times, and is one of the top ten happiest places to live in Britain according to Rightmove’s 2019 Happy at Home Index.

Not only is Altrincham home to some of the best bars, restaurants and shops in Greater Manchester, it’s just 25 minutes on the tram to the bright lights of Manchester and a short drive to the picturesque Cheshire countryside.

Altrincham is also famous for the old villas and beautiful houses which cluster in leafy suburbs like Bowdon and Hale.

“Altrincham is thriving with new residents of all ages moving into the area”, says Simon Gallanders, director of REIP, who specialise in bespoke luxury homes.

“Everyone is catered for – families love the cinemas, bowling, parks and superb schools, while young professionals can embrace the lively restaurant and bar culture.

“It’s also pretty brilliant that Manchester is only a quick 25 minute tram ride. Our homes have proved to be really popular with first time buyers as well as downsizing couples who have sold the family home but want to be in Altrincham to enjoy the cultural buzz, connectivity and nearby countryside.”

REIP currently have three developments in the Altrincham area.

First is Highbank at Green Walk, located opposite St Mary’s Church and The Stamford Arms in the picturesque village of Bowdon.

This  collection of apartments and mews properties is set within a stunning Victorian mansion and the surrounding grounds. Shortlisted in the International Design and Architecture Awards 2019, Highbank has been carefully converted by REIP into 11 luxury properties with unrivalled views of the village and the Cheshire Plain.

They’ve captured the attention of first time buyers, families and footballers.

There are just three properties left for sale at Highbank – a 3-bed mews house, a 3-bed coach house and a 3,000 sq ft 3-bed penthouse with a private lift and rooftop balcony. The luxurious penthouse has been finished by UBER Design and features all of the latest home automation.

A stone’s throw from Altrincham’s bustling town centre, Alderbank is a striking £22m development designed around a central landscaped garden  with 40 homes for sale, including 2-bed and 3-bed apartments and 1-bed mews houses.

All open-plan properties benefit from private outdoor areas and are filled with natural light thanks to their floor to ceiling windows.

REIP recently opened the doors of Alderbank for an early preview for prospective buyers and it’s already 65% sold. More open house viewing days will be hosted over the coming weeks as the development nears completion.

The third development in Altrincham, Bowhill Place on the prestigious South Downs Road, will offer the next generation of new-build townhouses and will be available in 2020, while a number of other schemes are also being progressed with future planning applications.

“We’re proud to be developing in Altrincham and the surrounding areas; there’s a huge demand for well-designed homes”, says Steve Slater, CEO of REIP.

“It looks set to get even more popular as Manchester residents look for alternatives to urban living. It’s a town we know well. Both Simon and I live here, so we feel passionately about providing homes that are sympathetic to the heritage of the market town while offering aspirational, contemporary, living that rivals any luxury city centre development.”
