The Lowry Hotel has created two new bespoke offerings this summer, including the hotel’s first ‘Chef’s Special’ menu which offers two courses and a bottle of house wine for £59 per couple.

The deal is available every Monday to Wednesday evening at the five-star hotel’s modern River Restaurant where you can enjoy views over the River Irwell whilst tucking into a fabulous meal.

What’s on The Lowry Hotel’s Chef’s Choice Menu?

The Chef’s Choice menu is crafted meticulously by the hotel’s talented team of chefs and celebrates the very best of seasonal produce.

Previously exclusive to guests staying at The Lowry Hotel, the exceptional menu is now available to all food enthusiasts, offering a delicious array of locally sourced starters, mains, and desserts that are sure to delight your taste buds.

Meanwhile, The River Restaurant’s extensive and captivating wine list offers a treasure trove of exquisite white wines, bold reds, and enchanting rosés, perfectly curated to complement your dining experience.

Indulge in Gorgeous Entrees on The Lowry Hotel’s Midweek Dining Menu

Whilst you wait, guests can begin their meal with a sourdough basket accompanied by smoked whipped butter, Maldon salt, and honey (£6.50).

Alternatively, you can enjoy padron peppers seasoned with dill salt flakes (£7.00), or indulge in the baby roasted chorizo served with crispy onion and smothered in a rich romesco sauce (£7.00).

Tempting starters include an ever-changing soup of the day, which, on the day of our visit, was a creamy butternut squash soup accompanied by a freshly baked roll. Elsewhere, the 40c trout comes adorned with a crown of caviar, a sprinkle of dill, and a generous dollop of butter.

For those seeking a plant-based option, the rainbow carrot mosaic with shallot ash and pearl onion, drizzled in a vegan hazelnut cream offers a burst of flavours and colours.

An absolute must-try is The Lowry Hotel’s luxurious take on a Caesar salad featuring baby gem lettuce, crispy bacon, salty anchovies, Grana Padano cheese, drizzled with the classic Caesar dressing, and topped off with crunchy croutons.

Main Course Delights on The River Restaurant’s Chef’s Choice Menu

The Chef’s Choice menu boasts an array of impressive main courses; guests can indulge in staples such as succulent free-range Cheshire roasted chicken breast with a refreshing asparagus and spring vegetable salad, complemented by a watercress emulsion and a touch of creamy buttermilk.

For those craving a bold and hearty choice (at an additional £24.00), there’s the 30-day aged Sirolin Steak, a 10oz masterpiece cooked to your preference.

Those seeking a taste of the sea can opt for the Lemon Sole, an elegant and timeless choice, accompanied by rock samphire and rainbow radish in a Grenobloise Sauce of browned butter, capers, parsley and a hint of lemon.

The moment you take a bite, you’ll taste the invigorating burst of fresh flavours emanating from the vibrant greens and delicate fish.

This option beautifully complements our other main course, the Pesto Risotto with Sundried Tomato Arancini where every spoonful transports you to the sun-soaked shores of Italy.

The rich and creamy risotto is garnished with fresh micro basil, whilst the generous servings of arancini, filled with sundried tomatoes, and flaked almonds add a nutty texture to the already heavenly dish.

To complement these delectable mains, a variety of sides are available including irresistible ‘fat chips’ and parmesan fries (£5.00 each), sugar snap peas with crispy prosciutto (£6.00), and charred Chantey carrots with shallots and cumin yoghurt (£5.00), a combination that brings together smoky undertones and creamy, spiced yoghurt.

The Lowry Hotel’s Indulgent Dessert Lineup on the Chef’s Choice Menu

A decadent range of desserts await you on the River Restaurant’s Chef’s Choice Menu.

The rich and creamy Brillat-Savarin Cheesecake is complemented by vibrant notes of passionfruit, mango, and luscious white chocolate.

Another enticing option is the Coconut Bavarois, a fruity summer twist on a panna cotta, which features compressed pineapple, a touch of mint, and a refreshing piña colada sorbet – a true taste of the tropics.

If you’re a fan of all things chocolate, prepare to be dazzled by the Valrhona Manjari Chocolate Horlicks Panna Cotta.

The velvety smooth panna cotta is infused with the finest Valrhona Manjari chocolate, whilst frozen ice and creamy white coffee ice cream add layers of texture to the chocolate dessert.

The Lowry Hotel’s Lounge & Bar has also unveiled its brand new small plates and signature cocktails menu.

The menu offers a selection of three tasty tapas-style dishes for £20, accompanied by a selection of signature cocktails inspired by hotel guests from all corners of the world.

Guests can enjoy a five-star dining experience at a pocket-friendly price, with mouthwatering options including breaded boneless thighs with Cola BBQ dipping sauce, Frito misto with charred lime and creamy tomato Aurora sauce, lamb koftas with flatbreads and zesty coriander salad, and baby roasted chorizo with Romesco sauce and crispy onions.

F&B Manager, Emma Walker at The Lowry Hotel said: “The summer small plates menu is a great new addition to the Lowry Lounge & Bar. The new casual dining menu welcomes sharing and socialising, a less formal and new concept for the hotel.”

To accompany the latest dishes, a new Signature Cocktail menu has also been introduced to the bar, celebrating beautiful destinations.

Emerald Isle is a heady mix of Jameson, Midori, pineapple juice, apple puree, lemon juice and caramel syrup; whilst The Manchester Mule is a concoction of Decorrum rum, honey (straight from the hotel’s beehives at The Bee Centre), lemon juice, topped with ginger beer.

And if you’re craving a taste of summer, Sunsets in Seville offers a captivating blend of orange gin, Grand Marnier, and refreshing watermelon juice.
