With the UEFA Women’s Euro competition kicking off, Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester has paid tribute to England’s Lionesses ahead of the start of their campaign for the title.

England will open the home tournament when they take on Austria at Old Trafford today, Wednesday 6th July, with Sarina Wiegman’s team one of the hot favourites to lift the trophy come 31st July.

To give the Lionesses an extra push, Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester has celebrated the national side, by creating a football scene in the attraction’s Miniland.

Home to miniature versions of Manchester’s most famous sites and attractions, Miniland’s latest edition features England’s starting 11 on the pitch at Old Trafford, ready to kick off their opening match in the Euros tournament.

On top of this the centre has decked out the Miniland in flags and fans to ensure England have all the support needed to go all the way to European glory.

“We cannot wait to watch our Lionesses kick off Eero 2022 at Old Trafford in July,” said Jenn McDonough, General Manager at Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester.

“We know they have a huge chance of going all the way this year and we wanted to show the team they have our full support.

“With the tournament kicking off in Manchester, we thought what better way to celebrate the team than to give our Miniland a footballing makeover.

“We’re looking forward to seeing guests catch the football fever and hope to see the whole nation cheering on England this summer.”

Back in May, when Manchester City clinched the Premier League title for the second successive season, Legoland Manchester honoured the Blues’ title winning triumph in brick form.

The replica Premier League trophy was built using 3,126 bricks and accompanied by City themed décor and Lego mini figure fans enjoying the celebrations.
