The Lawns at Spinningfields are set to welcome a brand new destination bar to Hardman Square this Spring, with the arrival of The Lawn Club.
“…The Lawn Club is the culmination of the lnBloom and Hibernate success…”
An aspirational space in the heart of the estate, The Lawns were home to two of the city’s most popular bars last year; InBloom and The Long Bar. Operated by Fluid Bars, the award-winning InBloom evolved to become Hibernate during the winter season. InBloom was named top pop-up summer drinks destination by Stylist Magazine, whilst Hibernate was voted number 1 winter pop up on both sides of the Atlantic by Top Shop Blog ‘Inside Out’.
This year will see the concept develop further with the introduction of The Lawn Club.
Renowned for its relationships with independent operators, Spinningfields’ developer Allied London worked with Fluid Bars to develop the concept for a new destination bar, with the vision for The Lawn Club focussing on a quintessentially British theme, mixing traditional charm with modern glamour and contemporary design. There will also be an optional membership providing certain benefits.
The Lawn Club will replace Hibernate and will be bigger in size, featuring a retractable roof, day beds, open fires and more seating – to ultimately combine the al fresco nature of InBloom and the cosy winter retreat offering of Hibernate under one roof but with more of a traditional, clubhouse feel.
Providing an independent, high quality social retreat for Manchester, The Lawn Club will offer a seasonally changing cocktail list which will sit alongside a more traditional drinks menu, making it the perfect place to enjoy a fine glass of champagne or craft beer.
The Lawn Club will be open from lunch through till late and is set to open April 2014.
James Wrigley, Director of Fluid Bars said: “This is our most exciting project to date without a doubt. We’ve been overwhelmed by the success of both lnBloom and Hibernate. The Lawn Club is the culmination of that success, and what we’ve learnt during that process – we’re looking forward to revealing more about the plans. We’re delighted to be developing our relationship with Allied London – they’ve been absolutely fantastic, and it’s great for an independent group like us to given these sorts of opportunities.”
Michael Ingall, Chief Executive of Allied London, said: “The redevelopment of the public realm as The Lawns last year provided us with an aspirational, inviting destination, of which InBloom and The Long Bar became an integral part. We are constantly looking to evolve ideas for the estate in conjunction with quality, independent operators where possible to create a must visit destination. Our idea of The Lawn Club is a place for food, coffee, a beverage, and just a place to belong to day and evening, where a mix of independent operators can combine to produce a unique offering.
“Fluid Bars has a proven track record of delivering a successful concept bar in this location and will be the lead operator with others adding other ancillary offers. The Lawn Club is set to be the unique destination in the city centre this summer, and there will also be an option for membership providing certain benefits.”
