Manchester will soon be waking up to the dulcet tones of Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston on Heart radio, after bosses revealed the new presenter line-up amid a huge shake-up of its local stations.
Britain’s Got Talent star Amanda and presenter Jamie will anchor the brand new Heart Breakfast Show from Monday June 3rd, taking over from the current hosts in Manchester, Lorna Bancroft and Joel Ross.
The new show will be broadcast UK-wide as part of station owner Global’s radical shake-up of its radio brands with more national shows, which also include Capital and Smooth.
Speaking of her excitement ahead of the launch of the UK-wide Heart Breakfast show, Amanda said: “I’m thrilled to be hosting the brand-new national Heart Breakfast Show from June 3rd with the fab Jamie Theakston.
“Having listened for years I’m excited to be part of the Heart team and working on what will now be the UK’s biggest commercial morning radio show! I’m not sure my face is ready for the early starts mind you, but I’m looking forward to waking you all up!”
Heart Breakfast’s co-presenter Jamie said: “This is a massively exciting opportunity in taking this show nationwide and I’m beyond thrilled to have my friend Amanda join me in the fun. Listeners can expect the unexpected from Amanda, just as I have learned to do over the years!”
Also joining the Heart Breakfast show team is former Pussycat Dolls star and TV personality Ashley Roberts, who will be sharing all the latest gossip from the world of showbiz.
In a historic moment for the brand, Heart Breakfast will be broadcast nationally across the UK for the very first time from Monday June 3rd.
“We have been working hard behind the scenes to be able to announce some huge changes to Heart,” said managing editor of Heart, James Rea. “Amanda Holden brings a fresh energy to the brand-new national Breakfast show and we’re delighted that she’s now part of the Heart family.
“Both Jamie and Amanda’s infectious humour and engaging personalities will certainly brighten up mornings across the UK. We wish them the very best of luck ahead of their first show together on Monday June 3rd.”
