With its relaxed vibes and fine dining atmosphere, Gusto is the go-to venue for hungry people craving a good scran.
Whether you’re looking for a romantic meal for two, a larger family affair or you simply want to chow down on some fresh Italian cuisine on your lunch hour, there’s plenty of authentic well thought out dishes expertly prepared from scratch to satisfy your cravings.
Now the Italian restaurant is offering a midweek escape to help us make it through hump day in style.
Gusto’s brand new Midweek Escapes menu is available every Wednesday, getting city centre residents through the working week with a selection of indulgent pizzas and pastas, accompanied by a choice of wines or a bottle of Peroni.
All you have to do to take full advantage of the new menu is get your squad together and make your booking online.
We visited the restaurant to try out the menu – and now we know where we’re spending hump day for the foreseeable.
Perfect for those that are on the clock, the streamline menu means ordering food is quick and easy – because nobody has time to mess around on hump day.
Choose from a selection of wines including Bianco Veneto, Rosso Veneto and Alpha Zeta Rosato or a bottle of Peroni Nastro Azzurro to help take the edge off your afternoon of meetings.
The menu offers plenty of variety for pizza and pasta lovers – including veggie, vegan and gluten free options.
The pizza dough is freshly made on site every morning, with the added option of a gluten free pizza base for an additional £2.
We opted for the Carnivoro – Milanese-style meatballs, roast chicken, pepperoni salsiccia, prosciutto ham and caramelised red onions.
A light brown crust with charred edges provided a firm base with extra flavour and crunch. Topped with quality ingredients, as opposed to being over-faced by a meat-based pizza, the toppings were evenly spread opting for quality over quantity.
Whether you prefer yours meaty, cheesy or full of veggies, Gusto’s woodfired pizzas are as authentic as it gets.
From the pasta menu there were some stand out dishes which you really wouldn’t expect. Struggling to decide between two dishes, in the interests of fairness we ordered both.
The Milanese Saffron Risotto was by far my favourite. Topped with Gusto’s signature three-meat ragu, the meat is cooked over five hours ensuring it’s perfectly tender.
The eye-catching yellow risotto with the addition of saffron offers a unique aroma and light floral flavour. This dish is a steal.
The Tagliatelle with Tomato and King Prawns was a wholly refreshing seafood pasta dish. Smothered in a thick sweet chilli tomato sauce and drizzled with fresh lemon, the succulent King Prawns were perfect and plentiful – a no brainer for any seafood lovers.
With a price tag of just £10, it’s time to ditch the supermarket meal deals and indulge in the midweek treat you really deserve.
To celebrate the launch of the new menu, Gusto are giving you the chance to enjoy your own escape to paradise – and anyone who books online for the Midweek Escapes menu will automatically be entered.
So winning a luxury trip, complete with champagne and spa treatments, couldn’t be easier.
