Already a massive hit in the Northern Quarter, The Butcher’s Quarter use time honoured techniques, but with a contemporary edge.

Now, they’ve opened an artisan butcher, cheesemonger and tasting room at the Great Northern Warehouse, offering a selection of locally sourced produce.

Meat lovers can choose from a range of the highest quality beef, pork, chicken and lamb, which are all sourced from two popular Cheshire farms.

The cattle are all free-range, grass fed in the growing season and grown to the highest levels of husbandry available.

The Butcher’s Quarter also offers beef ageing to enhance tenderness and flavour to the meat.

Committed to offering its customers the best tasting cheeses, The Butcher’s Quarter is associated with one of the best cheesemongers in the UK, IJ Mellis of Edinburgh.

Partner and founder of IJ Mellis of Edinburgh, Iain Mellis has worked in the British cheese industry for almost 40 years, so he knows a thing or two about it.

Also, on offer is a selection of nationally and internationally sourced wines.

The Butcher’s Quarter is constantly updating its wine offerings, sourcing wines from small family vineyards around the world.

The new opening also has tasting rooms for guests to experience platters inspired by butchers and delis on the back streets of Rome.

The tasting room allows guests to spend a little time sampling the wide range of European cheese and charcuterie, before washing it down with a glass of internationally imported wine.

“We’re extremely excited to launch our second shop at the Great Northern Warehouse, to offer the people of Manchester fresh, delicious meats, cheeses and wines,” said The Butcher’s Quarter’s Graeme Hogg.

“The Butcher’s Quarter guarantees great quality produce alongside an unforgettable experience, so it felt only right to join forces with the Great Northern, which is already home to a vibrant and ever-expanding set of independent local businesses.”

Speaking of the collaboration, Mark Schofield, centre director for Great Northern Warehouse said: “The team at Great Northern Warehouse are really pleased to welcome such a locally iconic brand to the family of independent businesses the Mews is home to.

“Their offering truly brings something new to our mix of leisure and entertainment brands and I’m sure their delicious product offering will be a huge hit with Great Northern guests.”
