Alex’s Bakery is one of the first places that springs to mind for an amazing selection of divinely indulgent sweet treats. They have an amazing selection of decadent brownies, cupcakes and cakes and an amazingly varied selection of flavours too.

Gooey

Gooey has achieved cult status in Manchester for it’s amazing selection of baked goods and delicious French Toast.  The cookie and doughnut specialists showcase some amazing food that’s perfect for sticking on the gram’, that has even won the admiration of international pop star Lizzo. Located in the NQ, they also have a kiosk in Ducie Street Warehouse where you can get your fix.

Loaf MCR

Set up by Aiden Ryan, who started baking during the pandemic to raise money for the NHS, Loaf has been a huge success story. After supplying their delicious loaf cakes to Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, they opened up their flagship story on Oxford Road selling a delicious selection of gigantic loaf cakes that come coated in a dazzling array of fruity, chocolate icings, wafers, biscuits and sweets. Add in their amazing retro decor, and you’re on to a winner.

Bisous Bisous

Opened by Alex Moreau and Kirsty McAlpine, Bisous Bisous stems from a love of good food and a passion for baking. their philosophy lies in preserving the art of French pastry; providing a truly authentic product made the traditional way, by hand. Companio Bakery is a friendly bakery in Ancoats, Manchester. They produce an amazing selection sourdough breads, pastries & Viennoiserie daily. They sell directly from the bakery on Radium Street, Ancoats and their products are also available at various artisanal outlets in Manchester Such as The Butchers Quarter and Chorlton Cheesemongers.

Cocoa Cabana Ancoats is a chocolatier, tearoom and cocktail bar located in one of the coolest neighborhoods not only in Manchester, but in the entire world, which can also be privately hired for special events like weddings, baby showers and parties.

Gingers Comfort Emporium

Making small batch of inventively flavoured real dairy ice cream, sorbet and vegan ice cream since 2010, Ginger’s was started as a passion project by Claire Kelsey, then a chef and food stylist, with no other aim than to refurbish an old ice cream van into something quirky and useful. It has gone from strength to strength and showcases some amazing flavours like ‘Marmalade On Toast’, ‘Olive Oil & Sea Salt’, and ‘Chorlton Crack’ – salted caramel peanut butter.
