A local brewery and gin distillery have set up their own boozy drive-through in Salford today.
Allowing customers to drive up and collect alcohol orders without leaving their cars, the genius concept comes from the Salford siblings behind Seven Brothers brewery and Four Sisters distillery.
They’ve set up a small gazebo and drinks fridge outside their Salford distillery so that people can drive straight up to it.
Customers have the option to order online and collect the next day, or simply turn up and pay at the drive-thru.
Stocked with all of their locally-made products, the new set up means that their customers can still support the local producers whilst respecting new social distancing measures.
Seven Brothers broke the news about their new endeavor on social media earlier today, stating:
“We know how hard and confusing things are at the moment and social distancing is a must so if you live local and want to collect your online orders without having to come inside and mingle then just tick the “drive thru” box in your cart and head down between 10-5 weekdays and 10-2 Saturdays the day after you place your order (or any day after that).
“You can also turn up on the day and order and pay at the drive thru! Let’s do this
“Again thanks for supporting our small family businesses, we appreciate the love.”
Introduced to help stop the spread of Covid-19, the new drive-through is also providing a lifeline to the McAvoy family’s independent businesses, giving them a new way to keep selling their gin and beer and to keep revenue coming in during the pandemic.
The past few days have seen a number of local independents in the food and drink sector rework their business models in order to survive after the Prime Minister advised the general public to stay away from bars, restaurants and clubs earlier this week.
