Gary Neville’s company has announced the latest big name to move into its huge new office development in Manchester city centre.

Ex-United and England legend Gary, 49, is developing the St Michael’s complex through his company, Relentless.

Once complete, it will have offices, flats, hotels, shops, a public square, and a Japanese-Peruvian rooftop restaurant ‘a stone’s throw from the iconic Town Hall and the Central Library’ next to the former Bootle Street police station.

No. 1 St Michael’s, an under-construction office block in the development, has seen a flurry of new leases signed in the past few months.

Now, the latest big name has been confirmed.

Channel 4

Channel 4 says it will lease half a floor of the building, with its existing commercial team based set to move in.

“We’re really pleased to sign Channel 4 to the last remaining office suite at No.1,” said Mr Neville on announcing the news.

“The broadcaster has a strong reputation for bold and creative content and it justifiably joins the portfolio of highly-renowned brands here at St Michael’s.

“Concluding the office lettings has seen us break the city’s rental record no less than three times which is a huge achievement.

“We’re now focused on final negotiations for the remaining food and beverage unit which will see us reach fully let status.”

Channel 4 King Street

The broadcaster currently has an office on King Street, and has confirmed staff will make the short move across town next summer — but continue to expand in the north and move more jobs out of London.

The new 100-desk office is said to be twice the size of the channel’s existing Manchester base.

Chief executive Alex Mahon said it was ‘really special’.

She added: “Manchester has always been a really important base for Channel 4, and we’re excited to be working with Gary Neville and his team at Relentless to grow our presence in this great city.”
