There are two ways of looking at January – it’s either the ‘morning after the night before, glass half empty’ approach where post-Christmas everything is grey and miserable and nothing will replace the Santa and his Reindeer induced sparkle.

“.THE NEW YEAR MEANS NEW CHALLENGES – NEW FLAVOURS TO WORK WITH, NEW MENUS TO WRITE, NEW PROMOTIONS TO PROMOTE.”

OR – you can take the ‘days getting longer, glass half full approach’ with the giddiness of those bemused fools camping out for the January Sales.

In all honesty I am usually the former, but this year I seem to be shaking off the S.A.D. And looking towards the summer already!

But of course it is the sales that keep many a folk happy. And we in restaurants certainly seem to have cottoned on to this and slash our prices left right and centre. Manchester is now awash with ‘50%’ offers all over the place.

Here at ABode I felt like doing something a little different – a one-stop shop if you like in January sales – cocktail, food and wine – all for the easy on the eye price of £20.14. Marketing gimmick it may be, but it designed to make sure you know what you’re going to spend with no sudden surprises – like that credit card bill might be when it hits later this month!

“Bars and restaurants all across Manchester will be rewarding their teams with fun and frolics of our own…”

With the festive season well and truly over, it is also time for OUR Christmas parties. Bars and restaurants all across Manchester will be rewarding their teams with fun and frolics of our own – and if you think the gossip from YOUR Christmas party is bad – let loose the hoards who have have served the tens of thousands over the festive period and it is truly a sight to be seen. Thankfully the amounts of alcohol consumed often lead to a few memory issues!

Seriously though, as Bryn would say, the new year means new challenges – new flavours to work with, new menus to write, new promotions to promote and [hopefully] a new excitement for the year ahead!

Happy New Year to you all from all of us at ABode – we hope to see you!

Until next time.

FFB!
