Film fans are in for a treat this weekend – there’s another FREE drive-in cinema taking place in Salford with movies for all of the family.

The film screenings will take place across Saturday and Sunday 21st and 22nd September at City Airport in Eccles.

The Saturday event will kick off with a screening of classic film musical Grease starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John as high school sweethearts Danny and Sandy at 2pm.

Then in the evening the award-winning biopic of Freddie Mercury and Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, will be shown from 7pm, starring Oscar winner Rami Malek as the iconic frontman.

On the Sunday it will be one for all the Disney fans in the family. It all starts with a screening of Moana at 10.30am – the hit 2016 animation about the strong-willed daughter of a chief of a Polynesian village, who is chosen by the ocean itself to reunite a mystical relic with the goddess Te Fiti.

Then in the afternoon the new live action version of Aladdin, starring Will Smith as the Genie, will be screened.

The free drive-in cinema has been organised by Kia Motors in conjunction with Smooth Radio, and follows on from a successful event held earlier in the summer at City Airport which is based on Liverpool Road, Eccles.

They’re now back with an even bigger lineup – and the good news is you can apply for free tickets for all of the film showings if you like.

You need to be quick though, as registration for the event is all being co-ordinated this week.

Tickets to all successful applicants will be emailed out this week.
