Never-ending roasts at Gaucho

Treat your dad this Father’s Day with a never-ending roast at Gaucho Manchester.

Bottomless Boddingtons at The Black Friar

This Salford pub is treating every dad to bottomless Boddingtons when they dine this Father’s Day – which brings a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘Dad Bod’.

The Sunday menu will be available all day, indoors and out, with two courses for £29, or three courses for £35 – and there are puff pastry pies and Lake District Himalayan salt aged steaks if he fancies a change from the usual roast.

A proper pub, some Sunday grub and a pint (or few) of the good stuff. What else could he possibly need?

Free beer and an Indian roast at Zouk

Father’s Day at Zouk means delicious food, relaxing surroundings, no washing up – and a free Kingfisher beer for every dad, too.

They’ll be serving their Sunday roast menu from 12 noon to 5pm, and you can dine indoors or al fresco on the terrace, with options including roast topside of beef, a mini lamb roast, whole roasted poussin or vegetable tikka with all the trimmings and a choice of traditional or spicy Zouk gravy.

For a Sunday roast with a twist, you can pre-order a leg of lamb for four to six people or a whole roast lamb for up to 15 people, marinated for 24 hours in a special blend of herbs and spices and stuffed with jewelled pilau rice, and enjoy a show-stopping meal to remember. Pre-order is required 48 hours in advance of your booking.

A Manchester music tour

Music fans from all over the world have made the pilgrimage to visit the locations that illustrate Greater Manchester’s rich musical heritage.

The Inspiral Carpets’ drummer Craig Gill built up a series of music tours over the years to reflect the popularity of some of Manchester’s most celebrated music exports – and since his passing in 2016, his family strive to continue his legacy.

The tours are now delivered by Craig’s wife, Rose Gill, who also experienced the ‘Madchester’ music scene firsthand, and make the perfect present for any music mad Manc dads.

Tours across Greater Manchester include The Smiths, Oasis, The Stone Roses and Joy Division/New Order.

Family fun at the ABC Buildings

As part of the weekend-long launch event for the ABC Buildings on Quay Street, a day of wellness and family-orientated Father’s Day activities will be taking place on Sunday.

The day will kick off with yoga on the roof deck and juices and breakfast in the dome space. Later on in the dome, family events company, Big Fish Little Fish, will be hosting a kids’ rave and mural painting, and there will be a 60s classic football match on the roof.

In the evening, a stand-up comedy show will be held in Side Street Studio from 7pm – 10pm with free entry.

The ABC Buildings are dog-friendly, so families are welcome to bring dogs along for the day.

Also taking place over the weekend is a Northern Soul takeover at Side Street Studio on Saturday evening, food trucks on the roof deck, a vintage flea market, film screenings, DJs and live music.

Hyderabadi thali at Ziya

At award-winning restaurant Ziya’s year-long Festival of India you can enjoy a beautifully-prepared thali platter of dishes inspired by a specific region.

Billed as a ‘joyful celebration of Indian regional thalis’, for one week out of every month throughout 2022, you can enjoy a thali inspired by regions such as Kashmir, Bengal or Goa.

For Father’s Day at The Midland, dads can sit down to a sumptuous Sunday lunch in modern British dining room Mount Street.

There’s a choice of a roast rump of beef, roast pork belly or slow roast shoulder of lamb selected by The Midland’s in-house butcher, served with beef dripping roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, glazed carrots and greens, and accompanied by a complimentary Peroni.
