Ten of the finest chefs in the north west will be creating a spectacular fundraising dinner at the five star Lowry Hotel later this year.
The Northern Lights Dinner will celebrate the region’s culinary successes over the past two decades and the 180th birthday of food and drink industry charity Hospitality Action.
It will contribute to the record sum of money Hospitality Action is attempting to raise in its 180th year for people who have worked in the industry who have fallen on hard times.
Guests will get the opportunity to network with some of the biggest names in the industry before enjoying a fantastic five course dinner cooked by ten of the region’s best chefs including Mark Poynton, chef patron at Michelin-starred Alimentum, Andrew Nutter, chef patron at Nutters Restaurant, Nigel Haworth, chef patron at luxury country hotel Nortcote, and Paul Heathcote MBE, chef patron of Heathcote.
Each chef has been tasked with creating a course that showcases how the industry has changed over the past twenty years.
Dishes include such culinary delights such as brill, coral crumb, cauliflower cheese, frazzled bacon, aged lonk lamb wrapped in seaweed infused butter puff pastry, and baked cabbage trompette mushrooms.
“Cooking styles and techniques have changed so much over the past two decades,” said Hospitality Action chief executive Penny Moore.
“We’re hugely privileged to have ten amazing chefs celebrating these changes and showcasing why the region has had so many culinary successes during this time. Guests are in for an evening of incredible food and fun, while helping us to raise those all-important funds for the charity.”
Lowry Hotel general manager Adrian Ellis said: “We are great supporters of the brilliant work that Hospitality Action does supporting people in our industry. The event is such an exciting way to increase awareness of the charity, raise money and get some very talented chefs creating all under one roof.”
The Northern Lights Dinner takes place on Monday 11th September. Tickets are £125 per person or £1,200 for a table of ten and include cocktails and canapés, the five course dinner and matched wines.
