Everyone in Manchester speaks fondly of Don Giovanni. This celebrated Italian restaurant recently celebrated its 36th year serving authentic Italian cuisine in the very heart of the city, on St Peter’s Square.

And due to the roaring success of the Eat Out to Help Out initiative, Don Giovanni has decided to extend the 50% off offer throughout September.

Covering all food on the menu, with a small supplement added to premium dishes such as steak and lobster, this half-price deal now covers more than half the week, running from Sunday to Thursday every week up until the 30th September.

As ever, T&Cs apply, and all bookings must be done through their website and limited to a maximum of six people, as per government guidelines.

If you’re worried about eating out in public, don’t be. Don Giovanni has implemented rigorous safety measures to ensure guests can dine without risk.

There’s a one-way system throughout the restaurant as well as hand sanitisers, plus the staff will be using gloves, visors, temperature checks and screen shields between the booths.

If one or more of your party has concerns about eating out, Don Giovanni is one of the safest places in Manchester to enjoy a meal out.

Just as importantly, the food is exceptional and has been for over three decades. The ingredients are as fresh as it gets, and each dish is treated to a level of attention to detail you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else.

The seafood is a particular highlight, with their grigliata mista de pesce renowned as a must-try dish. This seasonal platter of seafood offers up the finest frutti di mare around, including everything from pan-fried salmon to plump prawns and rich, garlic-infused mussels.

And of course, all the classics are there, from creamy spaghetti carbonara to the delightful vegetarian-friendly cannelloni, along with a few eye-catching dishes such as pan-fried octopus and the spaghetti nero di seppia, deep black squid ink pasta swirled up with fresh mussels and king prawns in an attention-grabbing white wine sauce.

This is high-quality dining, accessible to all, in beautiful, classic surroundings. The tablecloths are crisp white and flawlessly smooth, while the huge windows give captivating views of the bustling city.

The staff are a high-point of the experience, knowledgeable about all-things Italian and perfectly qualified to advise on the huge range of Italian wines available.

A meal here is a sophisticated event you won’t find anywhere else, yet manages to remain accessible to all. It’s immediately evident why Don Giovanni has won many, many awards over the years.

If you’re looking for an authentic Italian experience, featuring a wide range of dishes, from pasta to pizza and everything in between, all cooked with Mediterranean flair and wonderfully fresh ingredients, then you can’t go far wrong with Don Giovanni.

In Italian cooking, experience matters, and this delightful restaurant has more of it than anywhere else in Manchester.

When even acclaimed chef (and occasional guest cook) Jean-Christophe Novelli raves about it, you know they’re doing something very right indeed.
