In the heart of the Northern Quarter, next door to Afflecks Palace, you’ll find Dive Bar & Grill, which last year underwent a stunning £250k refit.

Step downstairs and you’ll find a large underground venue, with rooms for drinking, dining and watching sports.

Outside, you’ll find the city’s best-looking al fresco space, a beautifully-lit terrace with a fully retractable canopy and heating system, offering a fantastic setting for all-day al fresco dining and drinking.

Where better to settle in with a few friends and sample the new summer menu?

What’s on the summer menu?

Dive’s new dishes are all about fresh seasonal flavours, with many of the dishes cooked on the large grill for a proper taste of summer.

There are small dishes, perfect for sharing, such as the vegetarian and gluten-free charred broccoli with quince and almond, the vegan-friendly satay sweet potato with coriander and dry roasted peanuts, or crisp lobster tempura with a garlicky aioli dip.

Larger dishes from the grill include dry aged blackened beef steak – choose from either fillet or sirloin – served with mushroom ketchup and French fries, or the vegan and gluten-free charred greens with sticky sesame tofu.

If you fancy a real taste of luxury, try a half or whole juicy grilled lobster, served with rich garlic butter and golden French fries.

And if you’re craving something lighter in the sunshine, the salads are no afterthought, either.

Try summery tomato and creamy burrata with basil and walnut pesto, or Parma ham with fresh peach, nutty Gruyere cheese and balsamic syrup, both gluten-free.

Summery cocktails at Dive

There’s no better way to celebrate the return of drinks with friends than with an ice cold beer or a cocktail or two on the terrace.

The question is, will you go for a classic refreshing Mojito, a much-missed Aperol Spritz, or one of Dive’s brand new summery creations?

There’s the fresh, fragrant Violet and Elderflower Collins, a Blood Orange Margarita, the classic tropical Pina Colada, or a non-alcoholic Shy Tai made with pineapple, orange, lime and orgeat.

Plus, of course, a selection of wines, fizz, beers and ciders on tap and by the bottle.

Summer is here – get stuck in.
