If proof were needed that Manchester is going food crazy, the first ever Castlefield Food Festival takes place next month at Castlefield Bowl.

The free event takes place from Friday 15th May to Sunday 17th May and promises to showcase some of Manchester’s finest chefs, restaurants and street food traders in a celebration of all things food.

Over 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the festival, which will feature an eclectic mix of food and entertainment from the bustling hub in Castlefield Bowl.

Highlights will include a World and Farmers’ Market selling delicious food from local producers and from around the globe, with demonstrations from skilled chefs at the Demo Kitchen, tasty street food stalls and a wide range of live music to keep the party going.

Familiar faces showing off their skills will include northern food champion Robert Owen Brown and Kate Goodman from TV’s “Food and Drink” programme.

A range of pop-up restaurants from some of the best-known names on the Manchester food scene including Dukes 92, Dimitris and Veeno will highlight the sheer diversity and high calibre of restaurants Manchester has to offer.

Visitors will also be able to learn how to make the perfect cocktail to accompany the food on show.

To accompany the wonderful range of foods on offer, there will be a full programme of entertainment including “A Band Apart”, a Quentin Tarantino Tribute Band, and an evening of Spanish music brought to you by Festejar featuring “Break Latino” a funky Spanish crossover band to help you dance the night away.
