An actual beach is coming to intu Trafford Centre – plus loads more fun for the summer holidays

Manchester has everything except a beach, right? Wrong.

intu Trafford Centre is celebrating its 20th birthday by hosting 200 stores, restaurants and leisure attractions going all out to create the most action-packed summer on record for big kids and little kids alike.

A spectacular beach complete with deckchairs is back and better than ever, with a range of activities such as Water Walkers, Bungee Trampoline and Bumper Boats. The beach is open outside The Great Hall Monday – Saturday 10am-7pm and Sunday 11am-6pm.

And that’s not all.

Birthday Street, an amazing street scene on the mall, will be the scene of a series of spectacular events for the whole family including:

Princesses performances

Aspiring princesses can watch their dreams come true with pop-up singalongs from their favourite princess characters suspended high above Birthday Street. Appearances will be at 12noon, 1pm, 3pm and 4pm every Tuesday (7th,14th,21st and 28th August).

Pop ‘til you drop

Stay cool with the world’s first Nitro Ice-Cream buggy

Get down to Birthday Street on Thursday 23rd August and try some crazy ice cream creations from the world’s first Nitro Ice-Cream buggy. With a top speed of 6mph, the nitro ice cream buggy won’t be hanging around.

Smile, Snap, Print

Celebrate intu Trafford Centre’s big birthday by grabbing a prop, a hat or something silly and get a snap in front of the sparkly birthday backdrop. But watch out for the confetti cannons.  Shoppers can get their snaps printed for free to take home to remind them of the fun. Get snapping on Thursday 30th August in Birthday Street.

999 Day

Hard working emergency services teams from across the north west will be hosting a free family-focused day with emergency vehicles, vintage appliances, demonstrations and displays. Last years’ event attracted more than 10,000 people. An event not to be missed. Thursday 2nd August.
