One of Manchester’s biggest tech companies has teamed up with the We Love MCR Charity to help spread a little Mancunian cheer as the city prepares to reopen.
From Monday 12th April, anyone who enters the Sync Retail Store on Deansgate will be offered a free official Manchester Bee vinyl sticker – the perfect way to help showcase a little Manchester pride.
For every sticker given away, Sync will make a donation to the We Love MCR Charity, which helps coordinate some fantastic projects across the local area.
This includes their stronger communities fund as well as their Manchester’s Rising Stars Project.
The Manchester worker bee is one of the best-known symbols of Manchester, and has been an emblem for the city for over 150 years.
The bee denotes Mancunians’ hard work ethic and the city being a hive of activity, as well as representing the sense of unity in our great city.
For every single sticker given away, Sync will donate 50 pence to the charity to help fund local community projects.
“We are proud to announce our partnership with the wonderful team at the We Love MCR Charity,” says Sync’s commercial director, Chris Costello.
“The work that they do helps to make a tangible difference throughout Manchester.
“We are excited to support their future fundraising efforts and know they have some exciting events planned over the coming months.
“As we continue to grow, our social responsibility to champion organisations like the We Love MCR Charity is incredibly important.
“Manchester is at the centre of the UK’s tech industry, with more and more great businesses opening at a phenomenal rate.
“We implore other Manchester companies to work with organisations in the third sector, an industry which has been adversely affected by the events of the past 12 months.”
Sync has been operating across the business and education sectors for the past 29 years, and in 2018 they branched out into retail with the launch of the Sync Store right in the heart of Manchester’s city centre, along with considerable investment into a 24/7 e-commerce platform.
Sync recently rebranded from GBM Digital Technologies after a sustained period of growth, most recently increasing turnover from £77M in 2018 to £130M in 2020.
The business has teams across Britain, but the physical three-level Deansgate venue is considered a central Hub – containing a tech shop, Apple service and repair centre, and a training and conference centre.
Throughout the last year, Sync Deansgate has remained a place where customers could get their Mac, iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch and Beats under Apple warranty fixed – tracking the repairs every step of the way.
From 12th April, Sync’s Deansgate store will be reopening to the general public where consumers will be able to purchase a range of the latest tech and third party accessories.
