A new drive-in cinema is coming to Manchester – with a secret garden theme

Ready for a new immersive outdoor drive-in cinema experience?

Following the sell-out success of immersive Halloween and Christmas drive-in cinema experiences, as well as a host of outdoor live events throughout 2020, comes SecretCity – a new drive-in experience with a secret garden theme.

Launching next month and set to run throughout summer 2021, visitors can grab the chance to catch their favourite drive-in cinema classics and new releases on the UK’s biggest LED outdoor screen alongside a host of immersive entertainment, live actors, food and drink and many more surprises.

Tumble down the rabbit hole into a new world, where guests are guided through the enchanted tunnel, with plenty of photo opportunities, vibrant props and live actors throughout the journey – with entertainment from the moment visitors enter the park.

Screenings take place in the eveings, with family-friendly films as well during the day at weekends.

The line-up of films in April includes Wonder Woman (1984), Mulan, The Greatest Showman, Mulan, Greenland, Onward, The Witches, Insidious and Annabelle. 

May screenings include The Secret Garden, The Lodge, Black Box and The Meg.

There’s also food available, and a bar on site.

As SecretCity takes up residency in Manchester throughout the summer and guided by government announcements, the unique events space will be home to outdoor events suitable for guests arriving by foot as well as by car, including cinema screenings, DJ appearances and live football broadcasts and much more.

All of the events are outdoors, with stringent social distancing measures in place throughout the venue in accordance with all government guidelines, say organisers.

Guests are encouraged where possible to remain in their vehicle and only attend in their household or social bubble groups.

Hand sanitiser will be readily available throughout the venue, and in the toilets.
