A family-sized home in the city centre is our dream for 2021 – here’s why

From temporary offices perched at kitchen tables to evenings spent on the sofa while pubs and restaurants are closed, we’ve all spent more time at home than we would have anticipated this year.

And for some of us, it’s really brought home (excuse the pun) that perhaps the time has come to move house.

Maybe we simply need more room. Wouldn’t it be nice to convert a spare bedroom into flexible working space? Or perhaps it’s the lack of garden that’s become frustrating?

When we think of large, family-sized homes, we tend to think of moving out to the suburbs. But that doesn’t have to be the case.

Regeneration in recent years has seen New Islington become one of the hippest districts in the UK, filled with independent and creative spirit and some of the coolest businesses in Manchester.

Just imagine Pollen Bakery, Cask, Rudy’s Pizza, Ancoats General Store, Ancoats Coffee Co, Michelin starred Mana and Mackie Mayor on your doorstep.

Close to Manchester Piccadilly train station, Piccadilly East (home to Freight Island, the most exciting new opening of 2020), Ancoats and the Northern Quarter, New Islington also has its own metrolink stop, making travelling and commuting a breeze.

It’s a true urban neighbourhood with homes, workspaces, community facilities, and tonnes of stunning architecture. Find tranquillity by the marina, where the geese waddle along the towpath, knowing you’re just a five-minute walk away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

It is also home to the Ofsted outstanding New Islington free school, medical centre and nursery.

No wonder it was voted by The Sunday Times as one of the best places to live. This really is the best of modern city living.

But if you’re expecting only pokey flats so close to the centre of town, you’re very much mistaken.

Thanks to House by Urban Splash you’ll find three-storey high, big, beautiful Town Houses with three, four or five bedrooms.

Perfect for the extra space we’re all craving right now, whether you’re looking for a home office, a nursery, more space to exercise, or just an extra spare room so you can host loved ones once things start to get back to normal.

High specification bathrooms come with ceramic tiles, heated towel rail, mirror, storage cupboard and chrome taps/ fittings.

You’ll find huge oversized windows with plenty of natural light, patio doors, and super high ceilings as well as modern kitchens with integrated units, fridge, freezer, oven, hob, dishwasher, chrome tap and stainless steel sinks.

There’s also parking space, and gardens, and they’re pet-friendly, too – unusual for city centre living.

A dream house, in central Manchester, ready to move into in 2021. No wonder they’re being snapped up fast.
