The Script O'Sheas

Manchester pub O’Sheas has played host to plenty of live Irish bands over the years – but not many as big as chart-topping superstars The Script.

The Irish rock group stunned fans when they turned up for a surprise gig at the traditional Irish boozer on Friday to celebrate the launch of their new album.

The Hall of Fame stars – Danny Donoghue, Mark Sheehan and Glen Power – advertised the show by writing it on a chalk board outside the pub on Princess Street on Friday morning.

The free gig was open to any fans who brought along a Script CD or a ticket from a previous tour which they could then exchange for a wristband for entry to the pub.

And as word spread, the queue slowly grew right down the street.

Once inside, fans were treated to an intimate and exclusive afternoon gig with the lads, with frontman Danny leading the celebrations of their new album – by raising a pint of Guinness of course.

Sunsets and Full Moons is the band’s sixth studio album in a career that has already seen 10.8m album sales and 30m single sales.

Fans couldn’t quite believe their luck to see the band in such an intimate setting – especially as their next gigs will be on their huge UK and European arena tour which starts in February 2020 and includes a night at Manchester Arena on February 22nd.

But down-to-earth Danny and the lads were happy to pose for pictures for fans – and even tried their hand behind the bar at O’Sheas.

Tickets for The Script’s UK tour are on sale now
