Cast your mind back to 2012. The year of the London Olympics. The year that Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Diamond Jubilee. The year that those Doritos adverts went viral and shot The Mariachis to international success.

Way back in 2012 they performed hit songs Don’t You Want Me, Stay Another Day and I Love Rock and Roll on Doritos adverts that went viral.

Thanks to the powers of advertising – and the internet – they have performed at festivals like Glastonbury and Wireless.

The group has received over 13.5 million online video views and over 500,000 Facebook likes and has a loyal fan base all around the world.

The Mariachis are named after a style of music that dates back to 18th century Mexico that’s known for its distinctive instrumental, performance and singing style – not forgetting the signature clothing.

Now the Latin American music sensations are going on tour. Prior to their gig at The Deaf Institute on Saturday, the band will visit Manchester Arndale’s Barburrito around 1.30pm for a musical collaboration that promises to deliver some classic Manc tunes with a Mexican twist.

They will be singing four songs including the legendary Oasis classic, Don’t Look Back In Anger.

So why not hear some of Manchester’s most iconic songs performed mariachi-style whilst tucking into some tasty food at Barburrito, Manchester’s very own Mexican.

Let’s face it, it’s not something you get to do every day.
