Brunch is rapidly becoming our favourite meal of the day. The best of breakfast with an added a Bloody Mary and no judgement. Who could possibly resist?

An increase in popularity of the breakfast-lunch-sandwich ultimately results in the tricky task of securing a table in the city centre without a reservation.

So why not take a walk on the wild side and head to Pinchjo’s in West Didsbury, the latest brunch spot to hit the scene.

Something of a staple of West Didsbury’s vast array of eateries, Pinchjo’s recently changed hands. With new management, comes a new menu – and a new opportunity to brunch out of town.

The first thing to welcome you upon entering Pinchjo’s is the warm reception from Beatriz, one of the many friendly faces in this establishment. You’ll feel like one of the family in no time as you’re walked through the new menu to try out the family’s favourites – something we were more than happy to put to the test.

The space is deliciously cosy, decked out with comforting knick-knacks and a warming ambience. And with the kitchen just steps away from each table, you’ll get a whiff of the many tempting smells which escape the doorway.

Embracing both Spanish and South American fare, the menu at Pinchjo’s offers the best of both worlds. To occupy us before our mains, Beatriz whet our appetites with a portion of tequeños de quest blanco.

Something of a breakfast starter – an idea which should be immediately adopted by all restaurants. These are soft rolls of dough encasing chewy sticks of mild cheese, fried just enough and served with a mildly spiced chutney.

Satisfyingly savoury with just a hint of a sweet something from the chutney, they’re positively addictive.

Round two featured a veteran of the brunch safe place to buy levitra online brigade – the obligatory avocado toast. Pinchjo’s serves their variation artistically on a slice of thick, toasted bloomer, complete with a perfectly pop-able, poached egg.

The real show stealer, however, had to be the huevos rotos. Think patatas bravas but brunch-style. Thinly sliced fried potatoes are topped with two crispy fried eggs, accompanied by generous slices of chunky chorizo.

The marriage between crispy potatoes and runny eggs is comfort food at its very best, whilst the chorizo adds a luxurious, salty kick to every bite. A definite must for any visit.

In case you have room for a something a little sweeter, the brunch menu features chocolate-filled churros amongst other tantalising delights.

Fried to perfection, speckled with cinnamon sugar and holding a sweet, chocolate centre, the churros are served piping hot and crackling from the fryer, accompanied by a scoop of creamy vanilla. The cherry on top of a truly satisfying sundae.

Not only does Pinchjo’s serve up a brunch quite different to other eateries in the area, but at a pinch of the price too. Average plates will set you back around £7 or less – a total bargain of a brunch without skimping on flavour, quality or atmosphere.

Pinchjo’s serve up their brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays between 11am and 5pm, giving both earlier risers and those rolling out of bed early afternoon the opportunity to dine with a difference.

As a new concept for the restaurant, keen foodies are still slightly unaware of Burton Road’s newest brunch spot, so you might be able to get away with showing up with no booking. But this eggs-cellent brekkie spot won’t stay secret for long. So get there early and you might just have time for a siesta afterwards.
