This Movember, The Lowry Hotel is rewriting the script on men’s health with a new partnership with local charity Mandem Meet Up.

Together, they’re tackling the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and encouraging men to prioritise both their physical and emotional well-being.

Mandem Meet Up X The Lowry Hotel

At the heart of this collaboration is a shared mission: to creatre judgment-free spaces where men can connect, share, and find support.

Mandem Meet Up, a grassroots initiative founded by a group of passionate men, has been at the forefront of creating these safe havens across Manchester.

Through their talking circles and community outreach, they’re breaking barriers and building bonds, one conversation at a time.

Ben Rutter, Operations Director at Mandem Meet Up

Ben Rutter, Operations Director at Mandem Meet Up, explained: “As a nation, we’ve come a long way in understanding and supporting mental health, yet men are still treated differently.

“They’re expected to act tough and refrain from opening up to the people close to them, which we completely disagree with.

“We care about our fellow brothers, our mandem, and we want them to know that there’s always a safe space for them to share their feelings.

“Mental health is just as important as physical health, and we want to raise awareness for this across Greater Manchester.”
