In a beautifully restored chapel just outside the gates of HMP Styal, something extraordinary is happening at The Clink.
Inside the restaurant, women from Styal Prison are transforming their lives one dish at a time.
This unique eatery, run by The Clink Charity, is more than just a place to enjoy exceptional food—it’s a symbol of redemption, hope, and new beginnings.
The women who work here are on day release from HMP Styal, learning skills in hospitality that will help them rebuild their lives after prison, with over 100 women already trained in professional cookery and front-of-house service.
The Clink Restaurant open-day
On Saturday, 7th of September, The Clink at HMP Styal will open its doors to the community for the first time, offering a glimpse into this inspiring world.
Visitors can expect mixology demonstrations, pasta-making masterclasses, children’s activities, and a chance to meet the students and staff who make it all happen.
And with a new menu being launched, including brunches, small plates, afternoon teas, and more, it’s the perfect opportunity to taste some of the best food Cheshire has to offer—right from the hands of those working hard to turn their lives around.
You can read up on our write up on just how good the food was.
What will be happening?
The restaurant will also be launching a new menu, which people are encouraged to come down and try.
It will include brunches, small plates, afternoon teas, Sunday lunches, evening dinners and a children’s menu too.
