Eat Well MCR is set to host their third annual fundraising dinner in conjunction with the Northern Restaurant & Bar (NRB) Show on Monday, 11th March 2024.

Comprising dedicated professionals and volunteers from diverse sectors, Eat Well MCR has made a substantial impact, delivering over 100,000 meals since the onset of lockdown in 2020.

Their mission focuses on providing meals to those facing challenging circumstances, including families in temporary accommodation, women in refuge, food banks, and schools combating food poverty.

Where is the Eat Well Manchester fundraising dinner taking place?

Fenix

This year’s fundraising extravaganza unfolds at the newly opened Fenix Restaurant and Bar, featuring curated delights by Eat Well MCR’s own Mary-Ellen McTague.

The evening will have delicious welcome drinks, canapés, and an eight-course dinner complemented by exquisite wines—a spectacular blend of fundraising, food, and fun.

An incredible selection of chefs

The event showcases an exceptional lineup of local and national chef talent, including Stosi Madi of the Parkers Arms, Clitheroe; Sally Abe of The Pem, London; Tom Barnes of Skof, Manchester; Mursal Saiq of Cue Point, London; Farida Hamad of Erst, Manchester; and more, alongside the Fenix team.

Chef Mary-Ellen McTague was absolutely buzzing for the event, saying: “We cannot wait to celebrate our vibrant hospitality scene, the launch of NRB, and continue raising essential funds for Eat Well MCR.”

The team aspires to surpass last year’s fundraising achievement of £16,485, aiming for an ambitious target of £20,000.

Chris Brazier, Group Event Director of Northern Restaurant & Bar, states, “We are delighted to collaborate with Eat Well MCR once again for the upcoming fundraising dinner, part of our commitment to supporting Northern hospitality and launching NRB24.

“This partnership aims to generate funds for the commendable community efforts of Eat Well MCR, while celebrating northern talent and fostering unity during challenging times for the hospitality industry.”

Eat Well MCR’s Custodians Membership Programme

Eat Well MCR proudly announces the return of its Custodians Membership Programme for 2024, inviting individuals to support the organisation’s future through an annual donation of £1,500.

Members become part of a community dedicated to safeguarding the future of Eat Well MCR and enjoy an annual private, intimate dinner prepared by Chef Mary-Ellen McTague at 10 Tib Lane.

Kathleen O’Connor, Founder and Marketing Consultant of Eat Well MCR, emphasises the importance of expanding the Custodians group, stating: “We want to attract key Manchester cultural and hospitality figures who understand the transformative power of food in difficult times.”
