Noel Gallagher will play a huge homecoming show at Heaton Park in 2019.

It will see the Burnage-born Oasis songwriting legend play at the park on Friday 7th June 2019, ahead of the annual Parklife festival at Heaton Park which runs from 8th-9th June.

It is the first time he’ll have played the park since the memorable Oasis gig there ten years ago.

The Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds gig will also come a year after his estranged brother Liam Gallagher headlined at the Parklife festival at Heaton Park.

And in more brilliant news for Manc music fans, reunited band Doves will join Noel Gallagher at the gig on Friday 7th June.

The indie band announced on Monday that they are reuniting – firstly for a Teenage Cancer Charity gig at the Royal Albert Hall in March 2019, but had teased that “further announcements were to come”.

Doves, known for epic anthems Pounding and Black and White Town, are back together after a nine year hiatus.

Noel’s team confirmed the huge gig news on his official twitter page, after an announcement was made on Radio X.

It will be Noel’s biggest open-air gig of 2019, coming on the back of his Mercury nominated album Who Built the Moon? last year, and recently winning two Q awards for best solo artist and outstanding contribution to music.

Also on the bill on June 7th will be Austin-based rockers White Denim, known for their unique mix of modern rock, punk and funk.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday, December 7th.
