Yes, we know it’s only November. But we’re already in the Crimbo swing of things.

Zippy is firmly on his perch, the Christmas markets have started, Spinningfields is clustered with teepees and the Manchester Ice Rink on First Street is about to open.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any more Christmassy, something else turns up. Christmas igloos.

They’ve been popping up all over the shop this winter and it’s no surprise, given how mad everyone went for them last year.

Apparently, chef Jimmy Garcia started the snow globe trend down south. He described them as as ‘a bit of the Alps in London.’

Now they’re coming to Manchester. To The Refinery Spinningfields to be precise. From this weekend until Christmas.

They’re fully-furnished with timber frames and perspex sliding doors. They also come with full heating and are kitted out with blankets and speakers so you can cosy up and watch the snow flurry. Maybe we’re getting ahead of ourselves.

Head down for festive canapes, cocktails and all sorts of winter warmers. You can book a whole igloo for 8-10 friends or just come with a friend and join in with others. The choice is yours.

If you thought things couldn’t get any better, two of the igloos are partnered with Copper Dog whisky, so you’ll find a bespoke Copper Dog sip and snack menu to delight your tastebuds.

Go the whole hog for £35pp and have the ultimate Copper Dog experience including an intro, a little bit of history from the pros themselves and a selection of their cocktails and small plates to share.

The Sundowner Chai is the one to watch, made with Copper Dog,100ml sweet chai, 25ml apple juice, 5 mint leaves, cardamom and mint to garnish. We thoroughly recommend.

See you in the igloo.
