The Liquor Store are launching their new bar on First Street next month but rather than the usual red carpet opening they will be displaying a Hollywood-inspired but truly Mancunian Walk of Fame.

The Manchester Star Walk will bear the names of 20 famous people who have made a huge impact here.

liquorstore-mcr-first-street_300-x-250So whose names will be there? Maybe Morrissey, Johnny Marr, Noel Gallagher, Ian Brown or Mark E Smith? What about Tony Wilson, Steve Coogan, Caroline Aherne, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs?

We took to social media recently to ask: ‘If Manchester had a Walk Of Fame, who should be on it?’ What we didn’t say at the time was that The Liquor Store were going to pick 20 of the most popular suggestions and feature them on the walk.

The names will be kept a secret until the Manchester Star Street is launched. So why not see if you can guess who will make it. Or maybe have a bet with your mates to see who can guess the most names correctly. You can always have a drink to congratulate the winner afterwards.

The bar on First Street is The Liquor Store’s second venue in the city. It is already well-established on Blackfriars Street and is bringing its creative cocktails, vintage LA influences and rock ’n roll to the city’s newest neighbourhood. The bar on Blackfriars Street is known for its Manchester themed decor and cool tunes. So what gave them the idea of a Manchester Star Street?

Co-owner Doug Waldron says he wanted to combine the opening of the new bar with “something a bit different, sure to draw a crowd.”

The Liquor Store are famous for pulling out all the stops when it comes to entertainment so why not get down to First Street for the launch on Saturday 8th October. A great night out is guaranteed.
