200 Degrees Coffee has now opened its brand new coffee shop in The Hyphen Building, Mosley Street, serving up hand-crafted coffee and delicious food.

The opening of the new 80-seater shop, which is set on the expansive ground floor of the stunning new office development just off St Peter’s Square, is next door to the Manchester Art Gallery and in the heart of the city’s business community.

The new shop will bring 15 new full time and part time jobs to Manchester, and the highly trained barista team will be serving freshly roasted coffee from the 200 Degrees roast house in Nottingham, as well as iced tea, smoothies and milkshakes.

The shop will also be serving 200 Degrees’ deli style sandwiches, baguettes and an imaginative range of salads, soups, cakes and pastries – with plenty of vegan and gluten free options prepared daily on the premises, available to eat in or takeaway.

200 Degrees director, Tom Vincent, sees this as part of the coffee roaster’s rapid return to growth, post-COVID.

“After many years of trying to make this happen, we are very pleased to see our Manchester coffee shop open – and we hope to offer an independent and relaxing feel in our shop, which will add something memorable to a city, in which there are already lots of great coffee shops.” he said.

“We’re keen to show off our own hand roasted coffee and tempt people with our freshly made sandwiches and vegan brownies.

“Our Manchester location will be the first of our shops to have our Barista School right in the heart of the premises – and we’d like to connect with coffee enthusiasts and professionals alike, offering courses ranging from simple home brew methods to advanced barista techniques.

“With this particular barista school, we’ve expanded our partnerships with Sage Appliances and also Victoria Arduino – that make the world’s best coffee machines.

“We aim to make this one of the best barista schools in the UK with a full range of courses, talks from experts, machine demonstrations using four Eagle One Prima espresso machines and regular barista throw downs where we’ll invite all of the baristas in the area to compete for some very desirable plastic trophies!”

200 Degrees was set up by Tom and his business partner Rob Darby in 2012 and now has 12 ‘distinctively independent’ coffee shops, as well as its roast house near Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

The company is due to announce further plans for growth, including more coffee shops to open later this year.

The new Hyphen Building, Mosley Street coffee shop is open now from 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday, 9am – 7pm on Saturdays and 9am – 5pm on Sundays.
