This weekend Harry Potter fans will be descending upon the Printworks for a special convention, kicking things off with a world record attempt this Friday in the Printworks Pumpyard at 6.30pm.

The aim is to get over 1,000 people dressed as Harry Potter – all that is needed is a wand, a fake scar, glasses, a white shirt/blouse and Gryffindor style tie.

Registration will be open from 5.30pm and will close at 6.25pm. Entry is free and for every person that turns up dressed as Harry Potter, organisers DraigCon will donate £1 to the charity Cash for Kids.

To be part of the event, participants need to order a ticket in advance.

Afterwards, Bierkeller will be getting involved in the action, teaming up with Chris Rankin, aka Percy Weasley, to host their special Harry Potter quiz.

Customers looking to get involved can win Harry Potter goodies. Find the Golden Snitch to win a bar tab, £60 cash jackpot and goodies for the winning team.

There are tiered entry packages on offer, starting at £5 for entry including a glass of fizz.

£10 entry includes a cream cheese pretzel, flavoured shot and Haus Stein (bier, cider or cocktail), or £15 for all the above plus a Bavarian meal (choice of chilli bratwurst, cheese bratwurst or vegan bratwurst, all served American style in a brioche roll with fries).

Don’t be a muggle, reserve your space now to show Percy you know your quaffle from your bludger this Friday. Doors open at 7pm for an 8pm start.
