It doesn’t feel like the festive season has really started until the Coca-Cola truck starts wheeling its sparkly way across our TV screens.
And once again this year, the iconic red and white truck will head out on a UK tour to bring joy to festive revellers – and hand out mini cans of the fizzy stuff, too.
This week the Coca-Cola truck stops off in Manchester, part of its UK tour which will this year visit 14 towns and cities nationwide during the festive season.
The 2018 tour kicked off on November 9th in Glasgow and will weave its way down the country to stop off at Asda in Eastlands on Wednesday, November 28th – from 12pm to 8pm.
Over the last eight years, the truck tour has seen thousands of Christmas fans visit the famous vehicle. It has travelled over 737,000 miles – the equivalent of 29 times around the world – twinkling its 8,772 fairy lights and playing the Holidays are Coming jingle.
Thousands of families headed to see the truck on its 2017 tour – which included a stop-off at the intu Trafford Centre.
The tradition of the Coca-Cola Christmas truck first started 20 years ago – when the now iconic TV advert buy isotretinoin online showed a fleet of red and white trucks wheeling across a snowy landscape to deliver fizzy festive cheer to families.
In a glittering winter wonderland setting, visitors will be able to enjoy a 150ml can of Coca-Cola zero sugar, Diet Coke or Coca-Cola original taste at each stop.
Each truck tour stop will also encourage consumers to recycle their bottles and cans, in line with Coca-Cola’s ‘World Without Waste’ goal – a global pledge to collect and recycle a bottle or can for each one sold by the year 2030.
“Christmas is all about sharing festive goodwill with friends and loved ones – and we can’t wait to start spreading holiday cheer across the UK with the return of our iconic red truck,” said Alec Mellor, marketing manager for Coca-Cola Great Britain.
“We’re excited to announce a brand-new route for 2018, which brings a sprinkling of festive magic to our fans, alongside an important message encouraging more people to recycle on the go.”
The Coca-Cola Christmas truck will visit Manchester on Wednesday 28th November at Asda Eastlands, Ashton New Road, M11 4BD from 12noon to 8pm.
