The start of January is always full of good intentions. Amid vows to drink less alcohol, eat less meat and dairy (Veganuary, anyone?) and work out more, it’s easy to forget how much pleasure can be derived from getting out and indulging in a treat.

For everyone starting to get fed up with the cycle of work-gym-salad-sleep-repeat, we have a proposition for you. Don’t starve your sociable side – instead, enjoy the best of both worlds and head out with the squad to The Anthologist this month to make the most of their low calorie, money-saving Reef, Beef and Bubbles offer. It’s a win-win.

For a mere £19.95, you can enjoy a succulent 6oz steak and 1/2 juicy lobster with chips or healthy green leaves – plus a glass of chilled prosecco to wash it all down with (and don’t worry, there are alcohol-free options available for those keeping off the sauce this month). There’s also an option to upgrade to a glass of champers for an additional £4.

The restaurant’s also running some nice and naughty options this month – priced at £12.95 without an alcoholic drink pairing, or £16.95 with.

Nice options for those on their best behaviour include grilled squid, watermelon and bresaola (air-dried and salted beef) salad paired with either a fermented tea drink kombucha royal flush or a London essence tonic; and the Anthologist’s classic beef and prawn pad thai, which comes with a suggested pairing of real kombucha dry dragon.

For those feeling a little naughtier, choices include mouth-watering lobster mac and cheese with a roast beef crumble, or beef and tempura crab burger with chips – accompanied by a glass of wine, draught beer, or G&T.

From fermented teas to low-calorie treats, this one ticks all the boxes for us.
