Summer has officially arrived at the Trafford Centre with the the opening of its sensational new ‘Summer Social’ event space.

This huge new outdoor area brings together all the retro fun of the fair alongside an 8,000 sq ft beach, live music and entertainment, exciting pop-ups and selfie-ready backdrops.

Independent food and drink brands will also be popping up over the summer, kicking off with The Angelic, Kitakaze and Boujee Bar, the renowned, all-pink Instagrammer’s dream founded by Real Housewives of Cheshire star Lystra Adams in all its rose-tinted glory.

There is also a dedicated covered events space where people can safely relax and enjoy sports, live music and entertainment.

Visitors can experience all the fun of the fair with exhilarating rides for both little ones and grownups, including The Star Flyer, Log Flume, Apple Coaster and Cruise Ship.

Live musicians, street artists and buskers will be welcomed and the covered stage area will host Trafford Discovers events throughout the summer. Interested artists should contact the centre through its social channels.

The food and events space is open to everyone who wishes to take a seat, relax and enjoy something to eat and drink.

There is a £3.50 entry fee (£3 if booked in advance) to the beach area, with fairground rides priced individually. Pre-booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Token and wristband packages will be available to pre-book, for families and friends who wish to enjoy an afternoon or evening of rides, food, drinks and beach time – which will also offer a range of exclusive retailer discounts to take advantage of in the centre itself.

“Summer Social is going to be a unique and vast outdoor area, offering people a safe space to gather, eat, drink and have some fun,” said Zoe Inman, Centre Director.

“With over 200 stores, restaurants and leisure attractions to also explore within the centre itself, it’s time to plan a sensational day out at The Trafford Centre this summer – don’t forget your suncream!”

Ritchie Bagnall, operations director at Boujee, said the crew are excited to be linking up with the Summer Social at The Trafford Centre.

“Boujee opened its flagship site in December in Liverpool and since then things just keep getting more pink and more Boujee for us!” he said.

“We’re currently on site number five and we have something exciting to announce later this year.

“We’ve just reached 90K followers on the ‘gram and want to thank everyone for coming down to Boujee the past few months.

“We’re bringing all the best bits of Boujee outside to The Trafford Centre throughout the Summer Sun and can’t wait for more Fun, Fizz and Boujee vibes at The Trafford Centre over the next few months!”

Summer Social will be situated outside The Orient, opposite The Great Hall entrance and is open every day until 5th September. Opening hours are 11am – 9pm daily, with the food and events space open 12pm – 10pm Sunday – Thursday and 12pm – 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Set capacity limits will remain in place at Summer Social, and visitors are welcome to wear a face covering if they wish.
