Crazy for Gershwin heads to The Bridgewater Hall for an evening of Broadway glamour and toe-tapping tunes in an all-Gershwin extravaganza featuring the very best music, song and dance from the roaring 20s.

Considered one of the greatest composers of the 20th century, George and his brother Ira composed iconic and distinctive works.

With lyrics to fit their up-tempo tunes and heartfelt ballads with a seamless finish, the pair quickly became cherished and highly acclaimed musicians across the world with a legacy that has continued to flourish for decades.

This concert is filled with some of their most acclaimed works including Someone to Watch Over Me, Lady Be Good, A Foggy Day in London Town, ‘S Wonderful and the iconic Rhapsody in Blue performed in full.

The distinguished Manchester Concert Orchestra Show Band are joined by conductor Richard Balcombe, Viv McLean on piano and the sensational voices of Rodney Earl Clarke and Katie Birtill.

With the addition of ballroom duo Leila Stewart and James Wilson and tap dancers Jacob Bradford and Danielle O’Reilly, this is a show not to be missed.

Crazy for Gershwin is at The Bridgewater Hall on Saturday 5 May at 7.30pm.
