Leading Italian restaurant group San Carlo has acquired another family-owned restaurant – 47 King Street West, which closed yesterday.

This will be the third restaurant owned by the San Carlo Group on the same street. The original high profile flagship venue San Carlo is just across the road whilst Cicchetti is on the ground floor of House of Fraser department store.

The Italian family-owned group has three other restaurants in Manchester – Fumo at 1 St Peter’s Square and Bottega and Gran Café in Selfridges, Exchange Square.

Former owner of 47 King Street West Mike Hymanson said: “We wish San Carlo well in this new and exciting venture. As a family business we have enjoyed an incredible 5 years made possible by our fantastic staff and so many customers who have become and will remain friends.”
