San Carlo’s Italian restaurants Cicchetti and Fumo have unveiled their new autumn menus  – and there’s some show-stopping new additions.

The venues have conjured up a new season menu that marries comforting winter warmers with the authentic Italian ingredients that the San Carlo Group is renowned for plus a splash of theatrical flair.

Using the best of new season produce, some of the eye-catching new additions include a squash and parmesan risotto served inside a hollowed-out mini pumpkin (£8.95), a smoked burrata with torpedino tomatoes served to the table in a smoke-filled cloche (£8.95) and a rich cavatelli with sausage and borlotti beans served in a clay pot (£8.95).

If that weren’t tempting enough, then take a look at this show-stopping new dessert – a traditional Sicilian ice cream SANDWICH.

It boasts San Carlo’s home made vanilla gelato stuffed inside a freshly-baked brioche bun and sprinkled with walnuts (£8.95).  It’s size makes it easily sharable between two – although trust us when you say you’ll be fighting over the last spoonful.

Cicchetti ice cream sandwich

Fans of Cicchetti’s ever-popular gnocchi gorgonzola will adore the latest variation of the theme – a rich porcini risotto served in a rich parmesan basket (£9.95), while there’s a tantalising new fish dish to try in the generous form of cod with nduja Calabrian spicy sausage resting on a pool of lentils (£11.95).

Cicchetti

There’s also a delicious new buffalo mozzarella dish combining the divinely creamy cheese with grilled roasted squash, a crunch of pumpkin seeds, bread bites, chilli and truffle honey (£6.95) – a fabulous mix of textures and tastes.

Cicchetti

The new autumn additions are all available now at San Carlo’s Cicchetti restaurant inside Kendals on Deansgate and at San Carlo Fumo at One St Peter’s Square on Oxford Street in Manchester.
